Artists Statement:
"When the inner ocean and air meet" is a visual meditation on the sacred intersection where our internal elements meet: the profound, grounding depths of the ocean and the expansive, liberating freedom of the air. It captures the moment these two forces intertwine within us, creating a space where our truest, deepest selves can finally breathe and communicate freely.

The deep teals, emerald greens, and shadowy blues in this painting represent the ocean—the subconscious, our emotional depths, and the heavy, rich weight of our authentic selves. Rising through and swirling around these depths are the lighter elements of air, wind, and the heavens. The sweeping, translucent white arcs and delicate strokes of gold leaf represent this ethereal energy.

When these elements meet, they act as a life force. The air does not erase the ocean; rather, it brings the depths forth, lifting them out into the world. It is a bridge of expression. By allowing the lightness of the air to detach us from the heavy emotional undertow, we find the freedom to express who we truly are. This painting is an invitation to find that balance within yourself—to let the winds of heaven draw your deepest truths up to the surface, allowing you to communicate your soul freely and lightly.

In short, the painting is about the bridge between our hidden depths and our outward expression. The golden leaf pieces in the painting represents the worth of being able and free to truly express ourselves.
